Many foreign folks may be curious what does ‘paddle’ means in this regard. I’d like to tell people who likes to learn more about Thai slang or BNK48 that it comes from fans delusion (lol) on imagining that they are a couple.

Many other members come to congratulations; and say that they threw away the paddle. Why paddle? It comes from the word ‘relationship’ which has been shorten into ‘ship’. So, when we talk about our imagining couple, we say that we ‘ship’ this couple. Moreover, we call fans who have such delusion (like me) as a ‘shipper’.
Then, to make the ship sail, we need the paddle. Therefore, throwing the paddle means you don’t have to imagine anymore. It is becoming real.
